Day One in Ireland!
Oof! who thought 7 hours on a plane would drain you as much as it did? Either way, Matt and I found ourselves in the Dublin Ireland airport at 9:55 am local time and I’m not even going to do the math as to what it really felt like lol.
First we set our sights to the Fitzsimon’s hotel to drop off our luggage before traversing through the Irish cobblestone streets of downtown. Our taxi driver Keith was kind enough to give us ideas for what to do while we were in the city. He also gave us tons of information regarding the history and local hotspots of the city as well.
Next up was breakfast at the Hairy Lemon tavern where Matt and I both got the Irish Breakfast which consisted of sausage, toast, eggs, ham, and blood pudding with some coffee and juice to spare. After being stuffed and coming down from the airport adrenaline, we got to exploring the Finnley riverside along with some sights of downtown cathedrals. My libraries and bookstores were closed until Tuesday but I took note of where I wanted to get to eventually.
We had dinner at the Sano Pizza restaurant, Matthew had a strawberry milkshake whereas I had a couple glasses of red wine by the time the night was over. The margarita pizza was delicious and stone fired which made it disappear very quickly.
We attempted to stay up as late as we could (8pm) to get onto local time as quickly as possible. And that included me not having energy to write the blog yesterday lol. But now I’m running into the same issue. Oh also, Matt tried to get us up at 6:30am for Monday. That… did not happen. Anyway, stay tuned for the next blog for what we did when we woke up in Ireland!
